Professional musicians Lisa Meyerhofer, a flutist, and Orlando Scalia, a clarinetist, recently visited Mrs. Malphrus' High School Band class.
The musicians performed some of the pieces they are preparing for upcoming auditions and performances. Lisa, the daughter of SJCS Computer Science teacher Mr. Paul Meyerhofer, and Orlando live in Omaha, Nebraska, and travel extensively for their work. The passion for their work was very evident.
The two fielded questions from students about their experiences as professionals earning their living as orchestral and gig musicians.
