Mr. Lewis Runs in the Richmond (Va.) Marathon
SJCS Director of Mission and Ministry Mr. Gabe Lewis ran his first marathon on Saturday, November 16, in Richmond, Virginia.
Mr. Lewis completed the 26.2-mile Allianz Richmond Marathon in 2 hours, 54 minutes and 55 seconds to place 151st out of 5,029 finishers, including 21st out 391 in his age group (Male 35-39). Click HERE for complete results.
"It was a blast," said Mr. Lewis, who had his whole family there to cheer him on.
In addition, Jack Malo (Class of 2019) came over from Charlottesville to cheer and to help with the kids while Mr. Lewis was running. Jack did a year of missionary work in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Austin, Texas, where he worked at a family shelter for asylum seekers, and is now in graduate school at the University of Virginia.
Also of note: Mr. Carr let Mr. Lewis borrow a St. Joseph's singlet to wear for the race.
