Knights Take on No. 5 MVP; Check Out Important Info

The SJCS Varsity football team will be back at home tonight, taking on Mountain View Prep. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM.

It will be the second game in a row for the Knights (1-1) against a team ranked in the Top 10 in Class 3A. Last week, they were even with No. 9 Chapman until midway through the fourth quarter of a 35-21 loss.

Mountain View Prep (2-0), a first-year program and No. 5 in this week's poll (see below), is coming off a 49-7 win at Southside Christian.

This will be the Knights' annual Military Night, when the school recognizes those who have served and continue to serve our country.

There will be a pre-game ceremony honoring retired Army Colonel Jerry Wood, who will serve as our Honorary Captain. We also will be honoring Travis Manion, as well as former St. Joseph's football player Ben Dunphy, for whom this annual tradition was started. The J.L. Mann Color Guard will be presenting the Soldiers Cross.

  • The Knights Booster Club concessions menu will feature walking tacos, hot dogs, nachos with cheese and chili, large selections of candy, popcorn and soft drinks. They also will have a trailer serving chips and drinks to help reduce lines.
