Ava Catherine Elder Named 3A All-State, N-S All-Star

SJCS senior Ava Catherine Elder was selected to the 2024 South Carolina Coaches Association of Women's Sports Class 3A All-State volleyball team.

Ava also was chosen to play in the SCCAWS North-South All-Star match, and this past Saturday, she helped the Class 3A/2A/1A North team defeat the 3A/2A/1A South team at Brookland-Cayce High School. She also received her award for being named to the All-State team.

This season, Ava led the Knights with 477 kills, a total that also was first in the state in Class 3A and fourth overall according to statistics compiled by MaxPreps. She also was third on the team in digs (175), aces (45) and total blocks (30).

Earlier this month, Ava signed to continue her academic and volleyball careers at The Citadel.
