The SJCS Varsity football team will play their home opener Friday, taking on Landrum at 7:30 PM.
The Knights are 2-0, having outscored Fox Creek and Blacksburg 99-7 in their first two games. The Cardinals opened their season this past week with a 36-7 win over visiting Berea.
St. Joe's moved up two spots to No. 3 in Class 1A in this week's S.C. Prep Football Media Poll. Landrum is among the others receiving votes in Class 2A. Click HERE for the complete poll.

Friday will be the SJCS football program's annual Military Night, when we honor those in our community who have served or continue to serve our country.
The founders of Battle Buddies of the Carolinas, John and JoAnne Creed, will serve as honorary captains. The Creeds founded Battle Buddies in 2012 with the goal of training golden retrievers to help veterans suffering from PTSD and traumatic brain injuries return to independent civilian life.
Donations to Battle Buddies are being taken through tomorrow (September 1), and there also will be collection buckets around the stadium Friday night. The Knights Athletic Booster Club will host a tailgate before the game at 6:00 PM. Tables and tents will be set up near the administration lot, and there will be pulled pork sandwiches for sale. All are welcome!
