SJCS Varsity Baseball Team Earns a Pair of Region Wins Over BMC

The SJCS Varsity baseball team collected a pair of Region 1-1A victories over the Easter break, defeating Brashier Middle College twice at Lasorda Family Field.

On Thursday, Johnny Jaraczewski had three hits, including a bases-loaded triple and a run-scoring single, leading the Knights to a 17-2 win in four innings.

Henry Dryden and John Eberstein each knocked in three runs, and Ben McKay had two RBIs. Eberstein, Jackson Campbell and Sam Utecht each had two hits, and Campbell and Harrison Zinkann each scored three runs.

Junior left-hander J.P. Rambo allowed one hit and struck out seven in four innings.

The next night, Eberstein and McKay each had three RBIs in a 17-0, five-inning victory over BMC. Zinkann, Utecht, Cole Alt and Nolan Green each drove in two runs.

Jaraczewski had three hits for the Knights (5-9-1, 3-2), and Dryden and McKay had two hits apiece. Jaraczewski scored four runs, and Dryden scored three times.

Junior right-hander Liam Okuley blanked the Bengals on four hits, striking out six.

Earlier in the week, on Tuesday, the Greenville Hurricanes beat the host Knights 8-6 in a non-region game.

Dryden, Utecht and Eberstein each had two hits, Eberstein had two RBIs and McKay scored a pair of runs.
