SJCS students hosted their friends from the YMCA's RECESS program this past week.
RECESS (Recreation, Education, Community, Exercise, Social and Service) is a program for adults with developmental disabilities that is based out of the YMCA. SJCS alumni parent George McCleer, who is involved with the program, reached out to St. Joe's about partnering with our students.
This semester, our students have gone on two other field trips with the RECESS program: one to play mini golf and one to bowl. The final event of the year was hosting them here at St. Joseph's, where they made cookies and sang Christmas carols. It was clear that everyone had a great time!
