SJCS Seniors Recognized at Statehouse as James Otis Scholars

SJCS seniors Chandler Hargett, Sarah Morgan and Christopher Suarez attended the James Otis Lecture Series at the South Carolina Statehouse to commemorate Constitution Day on Friday, September 8.

This is a national day of celebration and remembrance, and all high schools are asked to participate.  Chandler, Christopher and Sarah were selected based on their pursuit of knowledge in government and their level of commitment and participation in the school's Youth in Government program. They attended a lecture on Fourth Amendment rights by retired S.C. Supreme Court Justice Jean Toal and received certificates acknowledging them as James Otis Scholars.

The program was sponsored by the S.C. Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
