Lola Kelly scored 25 points, and the SJCS girls basketball team poured it on visiting McBee in the first half and rolled to a 74-40 victory in the second round of the Class 1A playoffs Friday night.

Christ Church defeated McCormick 74-43 in their second-round game, which means the Knights will play at home again in the third round. The Knights (20-8) will host the rival Cavaliers (10-12) at 6:30 PM Wednesday.

The teams met twice in region play, with St. Joe's winning 49-44 at home and 53-43 at Christ Church.

Three of the final four teams remaining in the Upper State are from Region 1. Southside Christian plays at Denmark-Olar in the other Upper State third-round game. The winners will meet in the Upper State championship in Florence on Monday, February 26.

The Knights advanced to the Upper State final last year before losing to Denmark-Olar, 52-38.

Against McBee, Kelly scored 22 of her 25 points in the first half, and Evie Adams and Tiffany Helmer each hit a pair of 3-pointers, helping the Knights take a 45-24 halftime lead.

Adams finished with 14 points and Helmer had 10 points. Harper Greer had eight points, Adelia Stefanik six, Kori Guest four, Ava Catherine Elder three and Chloe Duncan and Stella Nash two points each.
