Knights Qualify For Class 1A State Track and Field Championships

A total of 14 members of the SJCS track and field team -- eight boys and six girls -- qualified for the Class 1A state meet with their performances in this past Saturday's Upper State qualifier at Lower Richland High School in Hopkins.

The state meet is scheduled for this Thursday, May 16 at 5:00 PM at Spring Valley High School in Columbia.

Among the girls, Odette Brown (800, 1600, 3200) and Harper Greer (high jump, long jump) qualified in multiple individual events. Odette, an 8th-grader, is the top seed in the 800 and the No. 2 seed in the 1600. Harper, a senior, is No. 2 in the high jump.

Among the boys, Lucas Salgado (100, 200), Burke Moorman (800, 1600) and Liam Novak (1600, 3200) qualified in more than one individual event.
