Furman's Jake Johanning ('19) Named First-Team All-American

Furman University guard Jacob Johanning, a 2019 SJCS graduate, has been named to the 2023 Associated Press FCS All-America first team.

Jake, a 6-foot-3, 276-pound redshirt senior and a team co-captain, was the recipient of the prestigious Jacobs Blocking Award as the top offensive lineman in the Southern Conference in voting by league coaches and media.

This past season, Jake helped the Paladins compile a 10-3 record, highlighted by a SoCon championship and a quarterfinal appearance in the FCS playoffs.

A two-time consensus first-team all-conference selection and a second-team All-American in 2022, Jake had 39 starts and 2,652 play participations in his career at Furman. He also was named to the SoCon All-Academic Honor Roll four times and to the SoCon All-Academic Team three times.
