St. Joseph's Celebrates First Hispanic Heritage Mass
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, which is September 15 through October 15, St. Joseph's Catholic School celebrated its first Hispanic Heritage Mass on Wednesday, October 6.
The guest priest was Fr. Rafael Padron from Jesus Our Risen Savior in Spartanburg. The music was performed in Spanish by Iglesia Católica San Sebastián, and the readings were in Spanish.
The students were clearly engaged. Fr. Rafael asked questions and one middle school student responded in Spanish, and Fr. Rafael translated.
The Mass was spearheaded by Wanda Rivera, the school's Hispanic Family Coordinator.
