Graduation: Congratulations to the SJCS Class of 2022!

St. Joseph’s Catholic School held Commencement Exercises for the Class of 2022 on Friday, May 27. The senior class totaled 108 graduates who earned the following accolades:

  • 106 seniors (98% of the class) received scholarship offers, with an average award package of just under $135,366 per student and a total award amount of $14,348,823. Three students were awarded “full rides” (full tuition or tuition and room and board) to at least one college.
  • 104 seniors (96% of the class) received South Carolina state scholarship awards: 21 Palmetto Fellows Scholarships, 73 Life Scholarships and 10 Hope Scholarships.
  • Four members of the class were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation: two were named National Merit Finalists and two were named National Merit Commended Students.
  • 13 members of the class committed to continue their athletic careers in college.

The Class of 2022 was also distinguished by the addition of 22 new colleges and universities to the ever-growing list of schools to which the previous 1,559 graduates were accepted, including Michigan State University, University of Arkansas and University of Oregon.

The Salutation was delivered by Lyle Jones, this year’s Father Fox Award recipient; the Senior Class Gift presentation by Madeline Manning and Christian Cancello; and the Farewell Address by Matt Wilson, the Redemptoris Custos Award recipient.
