Ava Dobson Makes The News List of 'Greatest' in Title IX Era
The Greenville News recently published an article listing "50 of the greatest South Carolina high school athletes of the Title IX era."
Among those on the list was Ava Dobson, a 2020 St. Joseph's Catholic School graduate who won three individual state championships in cross country and two more in track and field.
As a senior, Ava won the Class 2A cross country title with a time of 16 minutes, 58.28 seconds, breaking the state record of 17:36 set by Spring Valley's Kate Niehaus in 2003.
Ava, a three-time Gatorade South Carolina Cross Country Runner of the Year, now runs for the University of North Carolina.
