Wrestlers Host Tri-Match, Then Hit the Road Again

The SJCS wrestling team had its lone home match of the season Tuesday night, hosting Berea and Christ Church.

During the Varsity matches, the Knights' Austin Dodge, at 132 pounds, won both of his matches by pin, as did Hammond Fayssoux at 160 and Collin Massey at 195.

Among the SJCS Middle School wrestlers, Joel Linn, Andrew Arnett and Austin Courchaine all won by pin, and Luke Jones won by decision in perhaps the most exciting match of the night.

Trailing 7-3 late in the match, Jones, a seventh-grader, reversed his opponent (two points) and then put him on his back, earning three back points just before the buzzer and an 8-7 victory.

  • On Wednesday, the Knights traveled to Greer High School for a tri-match against against the host Yellow Jackets and Riverside.

In the Varsity matches, Massey once again pinned both of his opponents. Fayssoux won by pin against Riverside, and Dodge and Jack Flynn (220) each won once.

Among the Middle School Knights, Jones and Mack Rambo both won by pin.
