St. Joe's contingent takes part in Andy's Race

Andy's Race is named in memory of Andy Van Evera, late husband of SJCS swim coach Becky Van Evera and an avid triathlete and mentor to others in the sport. The event encourages those who race to do so not only in Andy's memory but in honor of all those who are no longer with us.

Competing in this year's event, August 8 at the Greenville Aquatic Center, were three SJCS swim team alumni: Lindsey Cummings, Alice Norton and Patrick Fesler. In addition, current team member Connor Farrell and former SJCS teacher Shawna Fesler competed in the Sprint Triathlon, and Coach Becky competed in the Aquathon.

Lindsey won her age group, with Alice taking second. Connor was third in his age group, and Coach Becky placed second in the Aquathon. It was a fabulous day of fast racing, friendship and camaraderie, with all competitors focused on gratitude for the ability to race.
