Cason McCall's basket with 32 seconds remaining lifted the SJCS Middle School girls team to a 30-28 victory over visiting Langston Charter.

Emme Cook scored inside to give the Knights a 28-27 lead with 1:53 left. After Langston made one of two foul shots to tie the score, McCall hit a shot from just beyond the free-throw line to put the Knights back on top for good.

McCall and Lily Del Collo each scored eight points. Cook scored six points, and Morgan Couchell, Evie Adams, Olivia Varn and Anna Cannon each had two points.

Langston Charter got off to a fast start and pulled away for a 47-17 win over the SJCS Middle School boys.

The SJCS JV girls made a run in the third quarter, but visiting Shannon Forest went on to a 34-17 victory.

Trailing 13-0, the Knights scored the first seven points of the second half -- baskets by Stella Nash and Caroline Mruz and a 3-pointer by Elasayd Okuley -- but that was as close as they could get.
