MS Girls Remain Unbeaten; MS Boys Also Victorious

Cason McCall led a balanced attack with 10 points, and the unbeaten SJCS Middle School girls basketball team breezed to a 38-11 win over visiting Bob Jones Academy on Thursday.

Lily Del Collo scored six of her eight points and McCall had four points in the first quarter, when the Knights jumped out to a 10-3 lead.

Evie Adams had seven points -- including a pair of 3-pointers -- for the Knights, who improved to 9-0.

Morgan Couchell and Emme Cook each scored four points. Olivia Varn had three points, and Julia Conroy had two points.

Middle School Boys

Nolan Green and Charlie Walters led the SJCS MS boys team to a 40-31 victory over Bob Jones on Thursday.

Barrett Barnhill came off the bench to spark a key surge for the Knights, now 3-5.


Tonight's Varsity basketball home games against Landrum have been postponed.

On Saturday, the Varsity wrestlers are scheduled to compete in the Wade Hampton High School Winter Classic Indy Tournament, and the Middle School and Junior Varsity wrestlers in the Carolina Classic State Tournament at Lexington High School.

On Monday, the MS basketball teams will play at Mitchell Road at 4:00 and 5:15 PM, and the JV teams will host Blacksburg at 6:30 and 7:45 PM.
