SJCS Students Participate in Boys State, Girls State

Ten SJCS students had the honor of participating in the American Legion Palmetto Boys State and the American Legion Auxiliary Palmetto Girls State the week of June 7-13.

John Campbell, Sam Covington, Brody Hall, Brodie Martin, Ayden Miller, Matthew Olsen, Will Saunders, Julian Stewart and Christian Timko attended Boys State at Anderson University. They were sponsored by American Legion Post 271.

Sloan Greer attended Girls State at Presbyterian College and was sponsored by ALA Unit 3.

Both are one-week leadership and citizenship training programs designed to educate outstanding high school students -- all rising seniors -- about state and local government.
