Women's Golf Association Rewards Julia Conroy

SJCS senior Julia Conroy has been chosen as one of three recipients of the Women's South Carolina Golf Association Vicki Hillen Junior Golf Foundation Bob Handler Scholarship.

This one-time $3,000 scholarship is awarded to three female golfers in pursuit of higher educational opportunities who demonstrate an aptitude for golf and reflect the game's inherent positive values. These recipients have a record of pursuing and accomplishing goals in golf, school and the community and are committed to a vision for their future.

Julia, a two-time Team MVP and Team Captain, made All-Region twice and was a North-South All-Star as a senior.

She also is a member of multiple National Honor Societies and volunteers with organizations such as The First Tee, where she enjoys passing on her love of the game to future generations.

Julia plans to attend Berry College in Mount Berry, Ga., where she will compete on the golf team and study Animal Science with the goal of becoming a veterinarian.
