Whit Wilkins Leads Boys Tennis All-Region Honors

SJCS junior Whit Wilkins, who was undefeated in Region 2-3A boys tennis competition, earned Region Player of the Year honors.

Whit also earned automatic qualification into the Class 3A/2A/1A individual state tournament May 11-12 at the Lexington County Tennis Complex.

In addition:

• Seniors Jeremiah Adams and Hampton Norwood were among the seven singles players on the All-Region team.

• Seniors Brodie Miller and Byron Webb made up one of the two All-Region doubles teams.

• St. Joe's was the only school with more than two players on the All-Region team.

The Knights, who finished as region runners-up, also earned the No. 6 seed in the Class 3A playoffs. They will host No. 11 Pendleton in the first round at 4:30 PM Tuesday.
