Varsity Baseball Storms Back; Boys Soccer Sweeps

The SJCS Varsity baseball team erased a seven-run deficit and defeated visiting Greenville High 14-10 in a non-region game on Friday.

The Red Raiders took a 7-0 lead in the top of the third inning, but the Knights (6-3) responded with seven runs in their half of the third and added four more runs in the fourth to take the lead for good at 11-7.

Frank Remsberg led a 13-hit St. Joe's attack with three hits, along with two RBIs and three runs scored.

Alex Gibeau, Nolan Green, Sam Utecht and John Campbell had two hits apiece. Green and Josh Lyons each knocked in two runs, and Christian Timko scored three runs.

Green pitched the final 2 2/3 innings, blanking the Raiders on two hits while striking out five.

Boys Soccer

The Varsity boys soccer team beat host Pendleton 5-3 in a non-region match on Friday night.

Andrew Moore-King had two goals and an assist for the Knights (7-1), and Mateo Rojas, Jonny Bunecke and Russell Scott each had a goal and an assist. Rhys Roberts and Jacob Stewart each contributed an assist.

  • The JV Knights blanked Pendleton 6-0. Zander Estevez scored a pair of goals, and Sam Astier, Johnny Dias, Evan Lobo and Mills Hoover-Dempsey each scored one goal for the Knights (5-1).
