Roundup: Baseball, Golf, Lacrosse, Boys Tennis

Nolan Green had three hits, including a triple, and knocked six runs, Christian Timko hit a two-run homer and scored four runs and the Varsity Knights cruised a 25-0 three-inning win over host Carolina High in a Region 2-3A game Wednesday night.

Sam Utecht went 2 for 3 with a triple and five RBIs for the Knights (10-3, 6-0), and Paul Norman scored three runs and drove in two. Timko and Alex Gibeau each had two hits and scored four runs, and Barrett Barnhill had two hits and two RBIs.

Charlie Sanders pitched three hitless innings and struck out seven.

JV Baseball

The JV Knights scored 13 runs in the third inning to cap off a 30-2, three-inning victory at Carolina High on Wednesday.

The top four batters in the lineup -- Miles Parrick, Hugh Clements, Guy Henry and Warren Bach -- each scored four runs. Henry had five RBIs, and Bach had three RBIs.

Beau Barnhill was 3 for 4 with four RBIs and three runs scored, and Jhoan Rondon Liriano was 2 for 2 with three RBIs and three runs scored.  Michael Lynn and Estaban Lozano each drove in two runs.

Middle School Baseball

The MS Knights scored 14 runs in the first inning and beat visiting Lead Academy 21-3 in three innings on Wednesday.

Hampton Uzas, Luke Skadow and Preston Pittman each knocked in two runs for the Knights, who took advantage of 15 walks and four Lead errors. Levi Norris, Jack Copeland and Austin Rogers each scored two runs.

Lacrosse

Molly Monroe had three goals and an assist to lead the Varsity girls lacrosse team to a 7-4 win over visiting Fountain Inn on Wednesday night.

Julia Su made 20 saves for the Knights (4-6), who won for the second time in three games.

Liza May Perry and Kristen Nelson each had two goals and an assist, and Anna Page Sparkman contributed a goal and an assist.

  • Kate Marchant scored six goals, Elizabeth McCall Suggs made eight saves and the JV Knights defeated Fountain Inn 11-5 on Wednesday night.

Andreah Alexander scored three goals, Reagan Monroe had a goal and an assist and Campbell McCart added a goal for the Knights.

Boys Golf

The Varsity Knights recorded a convincing victory over Southside Christian at Carolina Springs Golf Club in Fountain Inn on Wednesday.

George Covington and Cael Roberts shared medalist honors by posting 38s. Just a stoke back with 39s were captain Bryce Chapman and Liam Davis.

The JV squad was led by Gus McLeod's 47 in its win over a short-handed SCS team.

Boys Tennis

The JV Boys beat visiting Spartanburg Day 6-1 on Wednesday. The Knights also won two out of three exhibition matches.
