Guitar Students Perform on First Open Mic Night

Guitar Students Perform on First Open Mic Night

Students ranging from 6th graders through high schoolers dazzled while performing at the first Guitar Open Mic Night on Wednesday, May 13 in Barbara McGrath Hall.

The students performed in groups of two or three and played songs ranging from classics by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Marley and Dave Matthews Band to contemporary hits by Noah Kahan and Chris Stapleton. Of course, it wouldn’t have been an open mic without Wonderwall. They even played the theme songs to Scooby Doo and Phineas and Ferb.

The event was well attended by families, students, peers and even some alumni. A great time was had by all, and it was a wonderful way to wrap up the first year of offering guitar -- a class taught by Mr. Michael Fowler -- at St. Joseph's.
