Boys Tennis Rolls on Senior Night; Also Track, Golf, Baseball, Lacrosse

The Varsity boys tennis team honored its seniors and then shut out Woodruff, 6-0, in a non-region match on Wednesday.

Before the match, the Knights recognized Jeremiah Adams, Kolbe Hanson, Sam Kane, Alexander Millener, Brodie Miller, Hampton Norwood, Charlie Walters and Byron Webb.

Then Adams, Norwood, Millener, Kane and junior Whit Wilkins won singles matches against the Wolverines, and Miller and Webb won at No. 2 doubles.

Track & Field

The Varsity Knights competed in the Greenville County Championships Tuesday and Wednesday at Eastside High School.

Eva Cifuni reached the podium twice, taking third place in both the 1,600- (5:01.97) and 3,200-meter (11:09.43) runs. Odette Brown took fourth in the 800 (2:20.79).

Cifuni, Brown, Bea Hamilton and Sutton Alexander came in third in the 4x800 relay (9:55.11).

The SJCS boys 4x100 team of Sam Patterson, Mack Rambo, Tim Power and Eliot Power placed sixth (44.43).

The girls finished ninth out 14 teams in Division 2, and the boys came in 10th.

Boys Golf

The Knights lost to visiting Powdersville at The Preserve at Verdae on Wednesday, 155-162.

Once again, Cael Roberts led the Knights (8-4) and tied for medalist honors with a 2-over-par 38. George Covington contributed a 39, highlighted by a near tap-in eagle on the par-five ninth hole.

A trio of Knights added 43s to the team total: Bryce Chapman, Hudson Wolfram and Giorgos Demas, who was in the lineup for the first time this year.

Baseball

The JV Knights lost on the road against Powdersville on Wednesday, 14-1 in five innings.

The Knights scored their run in the second inning. Larry Bolchoz doubled, moved to third on a single by Jhoan Rondon Liriano and scored on a single by Owen Frazier. Guy Henry also had a hit for the Knights.

Girls Lacrosse

The Varsity girls lost on the road against Mid-Carolina on Thursday, 16-8. The Knights ended the regular season with a record of 6-8.
