Boys Tennis Advances; Girls Lacrosse Loses

The SJCS boys tennis team cruised to a 6-0 victory over visiting Pendleton in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs on Tuesday.

The Knights, Region 2 runners-up and the No. 6 seed, lost a total of four games to the 11th-seeded Bulldogs.

CLASS 3A BOYS TENNIS BRACKET

After a win over a young Pendleton team, the Knights will play on the road against No. 3 Walhalla in the second round at 5:00 PM Thursday. The Razorbacks have won back-to-back Region 1 championships.

"The tough matches lie ahead, and that's the fun part," SJCS Coach Ken Arp said.

Girls Lacrosse

The SJCS girls lacrosse team, seeded fourth in the Upper State, lost on the road against top-seeded Christ Church 20-1 in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs on Tuesday night.

The loss ended a successful season for the Knights (6-9), who tied for the second-most victories in the history of the program.
