Quinn Walsh pitched a two-hit shutout to lead the SJCS baseball team to a 4-0 win over host Crescent in a Class 3A elimination game on Thursday night.

Walsh, a junior right-hander, no-hit the Tigers through five innings. He allowed two hits in the sixth but got a strikeout to strand runners at first and third.

Walsh hit a batter and another reached on an error in the seventh, but with runners at second and third, he got a strikeout -- his 13th -- to end the game.

The Knights took the lead with a couple of unearned runs in the third inning. Sam Utecht, who reached on an error, came around to score, and John Campbell, who had a bunt single, eventually scored on a single by Walsh.

John Eberstein led off the fourth inning with a home run to make it 3-0.

In the sixth, Alex Gibeau led off with a single and, with two outs, scored on an infield hit by Christian Timko.

The Knights advance to play another elimination game, this one Saturday also on the road against the loser of tonight's Palmetto at Woodruff game.
