Athletes Break School Records in Weight Room

Several significant SJCS school records were broken in the weight room this year.

According to Strength and Conditioning Coach Julian Aristizabal, since incorporating more lifting classes and free-period workouts during the 2025-2026 school year, there was a major surge in performance.

This was especially evident on the girls’ side, where four records were shattered. The following athletes established new records:

  • Liza May Perry: Freshman Back Squat, 205 pounds (previous: 175 – Rachel Knoblauch '22)

  • Macy Caldwell: Sophomore Back Squat, 200 pounds; (previous: 195 – Salome Schmitt '22)

  • Amelia Gibeau: Freshman Bench, 110 pounds (previous: 90 – Tiffany Helmer '26)

  • Evie Adams: Sophomore Bench, 125 pounds (previous: 100 – Salome Schmitt '22)

  • Nick Passerrello: Junior Squat, 495 pounds (reset his own record of 465; previous: 460 – Johnny Jaraczewski '24)
