Students Collect Honors at State Thespian Festival
This past weekend, 16 students represented SJCS by participating in the Palmetto Dramatic Association/SC Thespian State Festival at Coastal Carolina University in Conway and celebrating educational theatre with high schools throughout the state.
Several students submitted performances into the qualifying round of the International Thespian Excellence Awards. The following students received "Excellent" ratings:
- Danielle Launius & Sydney Slater in Duet Musical Theatre
- Lincoln Davis in Film
The following performances and presentations received "Superior" ratings and have been selected to advance to compete with students from across the country at the International Thespian Festival (ITF) in June:
- Max Orbon, Victoria Laniray and Anna Quesnelle in Solo Musical Theatre
- Abby VanderLinde and Elyse Kucinic in Duet Acting
- Adalynn Harman in Costume Construction
- In Duet Musical Theatre, the following pairs received a "Superior" score: Anna Quesnelle & Aisley Zare; Lincoln Davis & Jacob Exposito; Abby VanderLinde & Victoria Laniray
Our competition one act, It's Not You, It's Me, directed by Max Orbon, received an "Excellent" rating for Play Production, along with the following accolades:
- Excellent Rating for the Ensemble of actors
- Outstanding Contribution in Direction to Max Orbon
