St. Anthony's Friends Lead Thursday Prayer Service

St. Anthony's Friends Lead Thursday Prayer Service

On February 20, friends from St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church came to St. Joseph's to lead our Thursday morning prayer service in the Black Catholic tradition as part of Black History Month.

St. Anthony's Choir Director Larry McCullough and members of his band and choir led the students in two worship songs: "Lord I Lift Your Name on High" and "I Need You to Survive."

St. Anthony's Director of Administration Kyle Hall shared some of his personal witness with the students. He shared a little of his conversion story, the gifts he has received and discovered through the Church, his "Black Catholic Hero" and his words of advice to middle and high school students on their faith journey. He ended by telling the students to "never give up," even though the journey with Christ has many ups and downs: "You walk every day in the light of Christ."

As students left for classes, the choir sang "How Great is Our God."
