SJCS Track Athletes Earn Class 3A All-State Honors

Nine St. Joe's athletes earned South Carolina Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Class 3A All-State honors with their performances in Saturday's state meet.

Athletes made the team by either finishing in the top three in their events or by meeting the classification standard (the required time or distance).

Eva Cifuni and Odette Brown each made All-State in three events: Eva in the 1,600 (first), 3,200 (first) and 3,200 relay (third); and Odette in the 800 (third), 1,600 (third) and 3,200 relay (third).

Sutton Alexander made it in the 800, finishing fifth but meeting the classification standard. Payton Picciuto and Bea Hamilton also made it in the 3,200 relay (third).

Lucas Salgado, William Gillespie, Matt Patterson and Sam Patterson made the boys team with their third-place finish in the 1,600 relay.
