Roundup: Soccer Goes 3-1; Liam Okuley No-Hits Mavs
The SJCS Varsity girls soccer team cruised to a 7-0 victory over visiting Palmetto on Thursday night in a Region 2-3A match.
Meghan Noonan and Reagan Grace each scored two goals for the Knights, who improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the region. Lola Kelly, Annie Walters and Caroline Mruz each scored once.
Caroline Getz and Taylor Hargett each contributed two assists, and Grace, Kelly and Macie Anderson each had an assist.
JV Girls Soccer
The JV Knights scored four times in the first half and defeated Palmetto 4-0 on Thursday.
Hazel Grace scored two goals for the Knights, and Corinne Okuley and Ella Pierce Hodge each scored one goal.
Varsity Boys Soccer
The Varsity boys remained unbeaten with a 4-0 win on the road against Palmetto.
Daniel Leon-Osorio, Jonny Bunecke, Liam Montes and Andrew Moore-King each scored a goal for the Knights (4-0, 2-0). Leon-Osorio also had two assists, and Lucas Rivera had an assist.

Varsity Baseball
Senior right-hander Liam Okuley pitched a no-hitter Thursday night, leading the host Varsity Knights to a 4-0 win over Class 5A Mauldin.
Okuley struck out six, walked one and retired the side in order in four of seven innings.
The Knights took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning. Henry Dryden scored on a groundout by John Eberstein, and Jackson Campbell scored on the front end of a double steal.
They made it 3-0 in the fourth when Dryden doubled to score JP Rambo, who had walked to lead off the inning.
The Knights added a run in the fifth on a single by Eberstein, a walk to Rambo, a single by Nolan Green and a bases-loaded walk to Christian Timko.
JV Baseball
The JV Knights lost at Southside Christian, 11-2.
The Knights scored their runs in the top of the first inning before making an out. Hampton Uzas walked, Jack Copeland singled, Guy Henry walked and Levi Norris delivered a two-run single.
Varsity Boys Tennis
The Varsity boys tennis team swept past visiting Spartanburg Christian 6-0 on Thursday.

SJCS seventh-grader Niamh Novak competed in the mile run in this week's Nike National Indoor School Championships at the Armory in New York City (home of the Millrose Games and Wanamaker Mile) and set a personal record with a time of 5:34.
