Roundup: Boys Golf Team Falls Short on Senior Night
The SJCS boys golf team lost a close match against Class 5A Riverside on Monday at The Preserve at Verdae Golf Club, 164-170.
The Knights' Bryce Chapman fired a 39 that was tied for medalist honors with two of the Warriors. George Covington was just two stokes back with a 41, and Cael Roberts added a 43.
Smith Crick and Hudson Wolfram completed the team's score with matching 47s.
Following the match, the Knights recognized the team's lone senior, Mac Winburn.
JV Girls Lacrosse Completes Perfect Season
Liza May Perry scored six goals -- and added 10 ground balls and an assist -- to lead the JV girls lacrosse team to a 10-1 victory at Dorman on Monday night, a win that completed an undefeated season for the Knights.
Anna Page Sparkman had a goal, an assist and five ground balls for the Knights (11-0), and Molly Monroe had a goal, two assists and three ground balls.
Kate Marchant contributed a goal and three ground balls, and Kristin Levato scored a goal. Evie Adams had two ground balls, and goalie Jayda Demirel made seven saves.

Varsity Girls Lacrosse
The Varsity girls came up short at Dorman, losing 7-6.
Sonia Julio Untener had two goals, one assist and three ground balls; Camila Salgado had two goals and two ground balls; and Gabby Bucci and Elasayd Okuley each scored a goal.
Also for the Knights, Alice Martin had two ground balls and three caused turnovers; Ariana Vasallo had two ground balls; and Reese Rosenfeld, Sofia Lemos, Reese Smith, Gabby Banan and Alejandra Meneses each had one ground ball. Rosenfeld, Lemos and Meneses each had one caused turnover.
Goalie Mollie Mendelson had 14 saves and one ground ball.
Boys Soccer
The Varsity boys lost a Region 2-3A match for the first time this season, losing against visiting Powdersville 2-0 on Monday night.
The Patriots (17-1, 8-0) took over sole possession of first place in the region, while the Knights (8-2, 4-1) dropped to second place. Powdersville has two wins over Christ Church (7-7, 5-2); the Knights play Christ Church for the first time Wednesday at St. Joe's.
Girls Soccer
The Varsity girls also lost their first region match Monday, 5-2 at Powdersville.
Among the girls teams, Christ Church (10-2-1, 7-0) is the unbeaten team in the region, with two wins over Powdersville (8-3, 6-2). The Knights (8-3, 5-1) and Cavaliers play for the first time Wednesday at Christ Church.
