Representatives of RIZE Prevention were at St. Joseph's this past week for a presentation at the TEAM meeting entitled "Not My Child”- Dispelling Myths & Building Resilience: A Parent's Guide to Teen Substance Use. Learn How to Increase Protective Factors While Reducing Risk Factors."
Martine Helou-Allen, Founder and Executive Director, created RIZE Prevention after years of work collaborating with the DEA, FBI and other law enforcement and government agencies.
R.J. Beach, who serves as Parent Liaison, spent 30 years in education as a teacher, coach and athletic administrator, including three years as athletic director at St. Joseph's.
Martine and Coach Beach spoke to St. Joe's parents about the dangers of drugs and alcohol, the many myths they have perpetuated and the ways RIZE attacks the problem.
