Engineering Design Students Create Golf Holes

Students in Mr. Sean Myer's Introduction to Engineering Design class recently worked on a fun and creative project: building their own mini tabletop golf course holes.

Each student designed one hole that fit a class-chosen theme and had to include several features such as a tee box, obstacles, a moving part, a tunnel or loop, a water hazard and guide rails.

Students started by sketching their ideas. They then modeled each part in Fusion 360 before 3D printing key components such as the putter, putter stand, obstacles and nameplates. They used a mix of 3D prints, wood, felt and other materials to bring their designs to life.

Over the course of 14 class days, students built their projects and applied real-world engineering skills in a hands-on and engaging way. The result was a unique and fun miniature golf course, proudly built by future engineers!
