Baseball, Softball, Boys Soccer in Action Today
Mountain View Prep defeated the SJCS softball team 17-2 in three innings in the first round of the Class 3A District 4 tournament Wednesday.
St. Joe's, the No. 4 seed out of Region 2 and No. 10 seed in the Upper State, will host Carolina High (No. 5 out of Region 2 and No. 15 in the Upper State) at 5:00 PM today in a losers' bracket game of the double-elimination tournament.
Carolina lost 15-0 at Belton-Honea Path in a first-round game Wednesday.
Wednesday's SJCS-Mountain View Prep game was played at St. Joe's, but MVP was the home team because of its higher seed.
Emerson Tate had the only hit for the Knights, a two-run double in the top of the second inning.

St. Joe's, the No. 2 seed out of Region 2 and the No. 4 seed in the Upper State, will host Broome (No. 2 out of Region 1, No. 5 overall) in a winners' bracket game at 4:30 PM, with the winner of that game advancing to Monday's district championship.
Boys Soccer
The Knights, seeded third out of Region 2 and No. 9 in the Upper State, will host Southside Christian (No. 6 out of Region 2 and No. 16 in the Upper State) at 7:00 PM.
Boys Golf
The Blue team, with captain Smith Crick, Clyde Williams, George Covington and Max McGregor, defeated the White team 8-4 to take home the coveted Nash Cup on Wednesday at The Preserve at Verdae Golf Club.
The Blue, in winning the match play event, beat the White team of captain Bryce Chapman, Cael Roberts, Hudson Wolfram, Mac Winburn and Giorgos Demas.
Next up for the Knights is Monday's Class 3A Upper State qualifier at Saluda Valley Country Club in Williamston as they seek to return to the state championships for the fifth consecutive year.
