Graduation: Congratulations to the SJCS Class of 2024!
St. Joseph’s Catholic School held Commencement Exercises for the Class of 2024 on Saturday, May 25 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Simpsonville. The senior class totaled 105 graduates who earned the following accolades:
- 103 seniors (98% of the class) received scholarship offers, with an average award package of $153,113 per student and a total award amount of $15,770,709. Six students were awarded “full rides” (full tuition or tuition and room and board) to at least one college.
- 103 seniors (98% of the class) received South Carolina state scholarship awards: 34 Palmetto Fellows Scholarships, 57 Life Scholarships and 12 Hope Scholarships.
- Three members of the class were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation: both were named National Merit Semifinalists.
- Eight members of the class committed to continue their athletic careers in college.
The Class of 2024 was also distinguished by the addition of nine new colleges and universities to the ever-growing list of schools to which the previous 1,756 graduates were accepted, including Colorado State University, St. Mary's (Calif.) College and the University of San Francisco.
The Salutation was delivered by Christopher Suarez, this year’s Father Fox Award recipient; the Senior Class Gift presentation by Caroline Powers and Eli Ireland; and the Farewell Address by Johnny Jaraczewski, the Redemptoris Custos Award recipient.
