Fox Carolina Features Clemson Pitcher Matthew Marchal ('19)

SJCS graduate Matthew Marchal ('19), a pitcher on Clemson University's Super Regional-bound baseball team, was featured on Fox Carolina Sports on Tuesday.

Matthew, an All-State pitcher for the Knights, played at Furman for one year, and after the program folded, for three years at Wofford, where he earned All-Southern Conference honors.

Then he enrolled as a graduate student at Clemson, where Doug Marchal, Matthew's father, had pitched 40 years earlier.

Matthew has a 5-0 record in 16 appearances this season for the Tigers, who will host Florida at 2:00 PM Saturday in the first game of the best-of-three Super Regional, with the winner advancing to the College World Series.
