Important Dates & Information

Are YOU a future Knight?

If so, we’re excited about the prospect of meeting you and your parents in the coming months as we begin the 2023-2024 admissions season!  Please pay particular attention to the events, dates, and deadlines listed below:

OPEN HOUSE:  SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2022

We kick off our upcoming admissions season each fall by opening our doors on a Sunday afternoon with an Open House. The program starts at 1:00 PM, and all prospective parents and students are invited and encouraged to spend an hour or two with us to learn more about our middle school and/or high school programs. You’ll also have the opportunity to tour the facility with current students and meet many of our teachers, coaches, and parents.  This is a family day, so prospective students (of all ages) and their parents are welcome.

SCHOOL TOURS

Prospective parents and students are welcomed to schedule a personal tour any time after our annual Open House. Tours are scheduled by the Admissions Office on most weekday mornings and tours usually last about an hour.  Please schedule your tour in advance by emailing admissions.

APPLICATIONS FOR FALL 2023 ENROLLMENT

We will begin accepting online applications for fall 2023 enrollment in mid-October 2022. Applicants should strive to get their application in as soon as possible, but preferably by Thanksgiving.  That way, you are more likely to receive your preferred testing date (see below) and to be in the first round of notifications that go out around March 15th. Once you have submitted your application, you have completed the first step in the admissions process, and you’re on your way to becoming a Knight! Remember, when it comes to getting the application completed, “the early bird gets the worm.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL SHADOW DAY:  TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2022

While we require high school applicants to shadow a day in our high school, we offer one day each academic year when prospective middle school students can visit. This year’s annual Middle School Bring A Friend Day is set for Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Greenville County public schools have this day off, but St. Joe’s is in session and our middle school students will be encouraged to host a friend (currently in grades 5-7) for a half day of classes and lunch on this date. Don’t know a St. Joe’s middle school student who could host your child?  No worries! We will find a host for you. Visitors must register in advance, and the above registration link will close on October 31, 2022.

PROSPECTIVE PARENT NIGHT: THURSDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2022

This is a great way to see what sets SJCS apart from other schools. Parents are invited to attend a series of small rotation sessions with the Head of School and other administrators to discuss specifics related to several topics: Academics, Athletics, Campus Ministry, College Guidance, Financial Aid, Fine Arts, and Student Life. The setting is casual and comfortable, allowing parents the opportunity to gather more information and to ask questions of school officials in a small setting on topics related to specific interests. Prospective parents must register in advance, and the link to register will post here in mid November.

PRIORITY ADMISSIONS TESTING FOR FALL 2023 ENROLLMENT: SATURDAY, JANUARY 7, 2023 OR SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2023

Priority testing will be held on one of two Saturdays:  January 7, 2023 OR February 4, 2023. Students who test on one of these two dates will get the first look and will be the first to receive their notification (around March 15th). Any incoming ninth grader who tests on one of these two dates will also be in the running for one of two academic merit scholarships awarded each year to high school freshmen.  The last scheduled admissions testing date is Saturday, March 11, 2023.

HIGH SCHOOL SHADOWING VISITS

If you’re a ninth grade applicant, you’ll be invited to campus to shadow a current high school freshman as part of the admissions process. Shadowing dates are scheduled by the Admissions Office following admissions testing. Beginning in January, we start pairing incoming ninth grade applicants with our Freshmen Student Ambassadors based on similar interests. Applicants will spend the day shadowing freshman classes, meeting freshman teachers, and seeing what student life is like at St. Joe’s.  By the end of the day, most students can’t wait to become a Knight!

PRIORITY DEADLINE FOR FINANCIAL AID APPLICATIONS: FEBRUARY 15, 2023

Since our earliest beginnings, the school has been committed to offering an excellent, Catholic, college-preparatory education to qualified students who wish to attend. Accordingly, SJCS offers a limited amount of funding each year to qualifying students and their families.  For the 2022-2023 school year alone, St. Joseph's awarded over 1.7 million dollars in tuition assistance and discounts to approximately one-third of our school families. Award amounts may vary from year to year as awards are based upon the number of qualifying families, their need, and available funds. The FACTS Management Aid Assessment Form for applying for this need-based assistance can be found on our website under Admissions/Affording SJCS, beginning in late December.  The priority deadline for completing and submitting this tuition aid request form is February 15, 2023. Applicants who apply for admission after February 15 are still encouraged to complete the aid form when submitting an admissions application.

PRIORITY ADMISSIONS NOTIFICATION DATE: MARCH 15, 2023

Applicants who complete the admissions process by the end of February will be mailed notification around March 15th. The parents of successful applicants will be asked to complete an online enrollment form and to pay the $300 enrollment fee by Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in order to secure their child’s spot at St. Joseph’s for fall 2023. Tuition payments for the 2023-24 school year begin in July 2023, and can be paid in one of four ways: a one-time single payment, two semi-annual payments, or in ten-month or twelve-month bank draft installments.

NEW STUDENT NIGHT: MONDAY, MAY 1, 2023

All newly accepted and enrolled students and their parents will be invited to campus on Monday, May 1, 2023 for an important and informative evening. New student packets will be distributed, and a general information session will include a checklist of “What’s Next?” to include everything you can expect and need to know to help prepare for the start of school in August 2023. In addition, smaller break-out sessions will be held to address specific needs by grade level.
