Admission FAQs

Yes!  We offer financial aid through our Tuition Assistance Program and scholarships.  To learn more, visit Tuition Assistance.

Decision letters will be sent out in February and again in March. Applications are then considered on a rolling basis as space allows.

Students are admitted to grades 6-11.

The Admissions Office will contact you when space becomes available.

Prospective parents and students are welcome to schedule a personal tour at any time. Tours are scheduled by the Admissions Office on most weekday mornings and usually last about an hour.  Schedule a tour here.

If you are unable to visit in person, a virtual tour is available.

We have many on-campus events during the admissions season to allow for a closer look at our school.  Please visit the Application Process page to view a list of our Admissions events. 

Your child may visit campus on Preview Day,  Middle School Shadow Day, or a High School Shadowing Visit. They are also welcome to accompany you on a personal tour. 

Families are encouraged to attend Preview Day during the Fall prior to the year they are applying for admission.  Applications are open the day of Preview Day.

In accordance with the guidelines from the Diocese of Charleston, we do not accept religious exemptions for required vaccines.

All students are required to wear uniforms.  On Thursdays, all students must wear their dress uniforms.  On Fridays, students may wear spirit wear.

Wednesday: 9:10 AM-2:55 PM

We offer a late stay program for $4.50 per hour.  Registration fee is $30 per family.  Any unsupervised student must be in Late Stay 30 minutes after school ends.  Snacks are available in the cafeteria for a half hour after dismissal.  Contact Debbie Quinones for more information.

We offer a variety of summer programs for students of all ages.  

Parents are asked to join the Parents Guild where there are a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the year.  Grandparents are also encouraged to be involved at SJCS through our St. Anne's Society.

All new students and families are invited to New Student Night in May. Students joining in "off" years (7th, 8th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades) are paired with a student ambassador to ensure a smooth and friendly transition. All 9th grade students are invited to attend our annual Freshman Class Pilgrimage, typically held in July. 

Tuition covers instruction.  Textbooks, fees, uniforms, lunch, and fees for after-school activities are not included in tuition.  To learn more, visit Tuition & Fees.

High School Mass is offered on Mondays in the Small Chapel at 11:30 A.M.  Middle School Mass is offered in the Small Chapel on Tuesdays at 10:40 A.M.  We have an all-school Mass in the JPII Center on Thursdays.

The safety of our students is our top priority.  We have several systems in place to keep our students safe.

Students have the option of French or Spanish beginning in 8^th grade.

The average class size is 16 students.

At Saint Joseph's, we strongly believe in the idea that "Life grows by being given away" (Evangelii Gaudium, n.10). That's why we place great importance on developing compassionate individuals who are dedicated to serving others. To achieve this goal, we require all of our students to complete a set number of community service hours each year.
