Course Description:
This course is an introduction to the study of atoms and chemical reactions that will prepare students for AP Chemistry. Topics covered include scientific measurement; the structure of the atom and molecular bonding; chemical periodicity; states of matter; nomenclature; stoichiometry; thermodynamics; equilibrium; properties of gases; properties of solutions; acids and bases; and electrochemistry.
