Course Description:
This course is designed to acquaint students with various elements of music, tracing the historical development of music with an emphasis on forms and styles, particularly Western Art music. Students will gain an overview of famous composers through class lectures, studying music scores, listening to musical examples in class, reading and filling in the textbook, actively participating in class discussions, attending live performances, and forming a writing analysis of pieces studied.
