Course Description:

This one-semester, seminar-style, inquiry-based course will analyze selected films, emphasizing the relevance of these films to American culture. Issues of personal and cultural identity, assimilation, segregation, and political struggle are particularly explored. Films are examined both as cultural products and as a vehicle for personal and group expression.
