National Merit® Scholarship Competition

The Class of 2024 had three National Merit Finalists.

Since the school’s first graduation in 1997, there have been sixty Finalists/Semifinalists, sixty-one Commended Scholars, six National Achievement Scholars, two National Hispanic Scholars, and thirty-five National Recognition Program Scholars.

AP Scholar Awards

The AP Program recognizes high school students who have demonstrated exemplary college-level achievement through their performance on multiple AP Exams with three levels of AP Scholar Award recognition. In the past 5 years, an average of 36% of SJCS AP students earned an AP Scholar Award, with 12% qualifying for the highest award, AP Scholar with Distinction, by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and passing scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
