6TH GRADE GIRLS, BOYS SWEEP ST. MARY’S
Feb 22, 2021Emma Stewart scored 10 points to lead the SJCS 6th Grade girls basketball team to a 21-10 victory over host St. Mary’s on Friday.
Stella Nash had six points and Cason McCall had five points for the Knights, who improved to 5-1.
St. Joe’s led 14-10 after three quarters, and then in the fourth, McCall hit a 3-pointer and Stewart and Nash each had two points as the Knights outscored St. Mary’s 7-0.
6th Grade Boys

The SJCS 6th Grade boys rallied in the final minute of overtime to beat St. Mary’s 35-32 Friday and remain undefeated at 6-0.
Smith Crick nailed a 3-pointer with 50 seconds left in the extra period to give St. Joe’s a 33-32 lead. On the Knights’ next possession, Josh Lyons knocked down a jumper to make it 35-32.

Tonight, the SJCS Varsity boys (10-5) will play on the road against Christ Church at 6:30 PM in a Class 2A first-round playoff game.
The Knights (10-5), coming off a big 52-49 win at Crescent in the play-in game Thursday, finished third in Region 2. The Cavaliers (16-3) finished first in Region 1.
