Dear St. Joseph’s Community,
Please take a moment to watch the video below and to read the following email and this attachment carefully.
As previously noted, the Governor’s Office and South Carolina High School League have imposed restrictions and guidelines upon spectator capacity at both indoor and outdoor athletic events, in accordance with the CDC and SCDHEC safety recommendations. In order for our athletes to continue to play, SJCS must maintain strict adherence to these restrictions and guidelines. For many of our teams, these rules will still permit spectator capacity in line with historical attendance rates. Unfortunately, these restrictions will not permit all who would like to attend our Varsity Football home games to do so.
Since our stadium capacity limit was finalized last week, the Administration, Athletic Department and Booster Club have been working hard to devise an attendance plan for these games that takes into account all constituencies and is as fair as possible while adhering to SCHSL rules. Please read the attached attendance plan carefully and understand that you will not be able to attend a Varsity game without a reserved ticket. We hope by sharing this with you now, we will avoid confusion on game days.
We also kindly ask for your patience, understanding and forbearance as we work through an admittedly less than ideal plan for everyone given the challenging circumstances we are all living with right now. We do, however, hope this plan will allow our students the chance to cheer on their peers and have a somewhat “normal” high school experience, while also allowing the families of our players, cheerleaders and drumline band members, who have worked so hard, to watch their sons and daughters play.
Thank you for your continued support, and as always, GO KNIGHTS!
