Class of 2010 member Emily Pietras, the South Carolina State Winner in the Colonial Dames of America National Essay Contest, recently attended a Washington Workshops Congressional Seminar all-expense paid week in Washington, DC. As part of an assignment in Meby Carr's AP U.S. Government class addressing the topic "A Major Supreme Court Decision You Believe To Be Pivotal In Our Nation's History," Emily wrote about the Supreme Court’s decision in the case of Gideon v. Wainwright.
