On June 26, St. Joseph’s Catholic School held Commencement Exercises for the Class of 2020. The senior class totaled 102 graduates who earned the following accolades:

  • 93% (95 out of 102) of the students were awarded at least one scholarship, with a class Total Award Amount of $12,087,908 (average of $127,241 per student)
  • 2 students were awarded a “full ride” (full tuition or tuition and room and board) to at least one college
  • 93% (95) of the students received a SC State Scholarship Award
  • 100% College Acceptance and 98% College Enrollment (2 military), with 99% having reported being happy/very happy with their college acceptances/choices
  • Students will be attending 44 different colleges in 2 countries (US and Spain) in 18 different states and DC
  • 24 students were accepted into Honors Programs (16 different colleges/programs; 13 will be attending)
  • 9 are enrolling into a Catholic university
  • 6 are enrolling into a highly selective university (5 different universities—this does not include Honors Colleges/Programs)
  • 9 have signed/committed to play a sport in college, 6 of those at Division I schools

The Salutation was delivered by Joey Stansberry, this year’s Father Fox Award recipient; the Senior Class Gift presentation by Nyah Hallums, Katelyn Supra and Cailin Sullivan, who represented the Senior Class Senate; and the Farewell Address by Luciana Strathern, the Redemptoris Custos Award recipient.
