SJCS Spanish teacher Shawna Fesler called it “one of the more positive experiences for me during this time of quarantine.”
On Wednesday, Mrs. Fesler’s Spanish 4 class invited Sra. Lindstrom, mother of Andres and Catalina Lindstrom, to join them for Café y Conversación. The students enjoyed listening to her describe her life growing up in Colombia, South America, and asked questions until the end of class.
“It was a great cultural experience, and Sra. Lindstrom is kind, funny and so willing to share stories of her beloved homeland,” Mrs. Fesler said. “Her son is in my class, and he asked her (in Spanish) if she would ever move back to Colombia. She said that her life is here now, she has a husband, job and family, and she would only go back if he goes with her! It was a beautiful experience!”
