SJCS TEACHERS GET CREATIVE WITH VIRTUAL LEARNING

Mar 30, 2020

With online learning the new normal at SJCS through April, teachers are becoming creative with the way they connect with students.

Computer Science Department Chair Mrs. Jennifer Collins had a guest lecturer in her photo class. Bob Moyers, a freelance digital tech and retoucher in New York City, shared what a digital tech does while on a photo shoot and what he as a retoucher does with the images after the shoot to get them ready for press.

Mr. Moyers also showed the class his new favorite tool in photoshop, the spot healing brush, by retouching a photo (taken by his wife, Maria Moyers) of one of his daughters.

“I am trying to take advantage of people being home to have guest speakers,” Mrs. Collins said. “Normally they are all too busy!”

Meanwhile, Science Department Chair Mr. Ryan Koon created a YouTube channel (below) to upload videos for his classes.
